 Dear Members of the Society, Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to cordially invite you to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the 45th Congress of the European Society for Surgical Research (ESSR) on 9-12 June 2010. The Congress venue is the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva (Centre Médical Universitaire - CMU) which will take us back to our student years.
ESSR was established 45 years ago to promote collaboration among members and encourage young scientists to become involved in surgical research. ESSR brings all surgical specialties together and thus makes it a particular society in the era of extreme specialisation. Our credo is “Correlation of science with the art of surgical practice”.
ESSR is an extraordinary society that gives opportunities to young members to be responsible for the management of the society, organization of the annual congresses and chairing the sessions.
The annual congress is a great occasion where we can update our knowledge on surgical research, create new collaborations, and have professional contacts with the relative industries. The program will include interesting keynote lectures, symposiums, and pre- congress hands-on workshops for the general interests of all surgical specialties. There will be oral and poster sessions for a wide range of topics.
In addition to the scientific aspects of the meeting, you will be able to experience the beautiful and vibrating city of Geneva. It is known as “the smallest of the big capitals” which offers many cultural and social facilities and natural beauty. Access to Geneva is easy and economic by plain, car and train. Geneva is a major hub for many airlines which offers more than 100 international connections.
